Hot August News: MNT Station live on Crowd Supply, Reform Next shipping update, MNT Vector mainboard progress, and wholesome community contributions.

MNT Developments and Updates

MNT Station Mini Campaign Is Live

stack of 3 MNT Station (Cases)

MNT Station is a quiet and space-saving, open hardware computer for your desktop, homelab, or mounted on a wall as an edge device/router. It’s also a robust enclosure for your existing MNT Reform mainboard and can be turned into a standalone desktop PC, silent home NAS, or low-power entertainment center.

Because of its multi-purpose functionality, we decided to give you the option to make your own bundle. For example, if you want to use MNT station as a desktop computer/router, you'd only need three parts:

If you require a more custom approach, here is a full list of available parts:

We launched MNT Station as a mini campaign on Crowd Supply with a goal of $1 (good news: it's already funded!). If you want to back this project: the campaign runs until 25 September 2026.

MNT Reform Next Status Update

Anri has been evaluating his test unit of the MNT Reform Next.

So far, he found only minor bugs that Lucie will fix in the last step of minor-things-that-still-need-to-be-done (i.e. polishing the firmware).

Simultaneously, we're in the process of finishing the handbook, making last edits. As usual, it will feature schematics, resources, and detailed information on the hardware and software—as well as aesthetically pleasing 3D renders created by Lucie. Sneak peek:

When the firmware is done, the first batch will be good to go!

As the photos above show, Greta has been busy with assembly. We're excited about finally shipping MNT Reform Next to you and we'd love to hear your feedback once you've received your laptop. We still aim for shipment in September 2026.

MNT Pocket Reform Firmware Update

You may have heard about the notorious rollout of the Pocket Reform firmware update that occured when deviating from the exact order of steps that were necessary for the update to succeed. Some Pocket Reform users reported screen glitches and other bugs. Lucie (and Johannes Schauer Marin Rodrigues—thank you, Josch!) put in great effort to resolve the issues quickly. The kernel package has been updated subsequently and is now stable. For the latest instructions, please check the updated thread in the MNT Community Forum. If you're (still) experiencing any issues, please let us know in the aforementioned thread or write a message to support.

Price Increase of MNT RCORE with RK3588

The prices for the RK3588 processor module have been increasing multiple times since the RAM shortage started and they continue to do so. In June, buying prices went up by $100 per unit—now they've gone up by another $105. This makes a total increase of $205 in just three months. We hope this trend won't continue, but industry predictions aren't looking too good at the moment. We still want to offer this module, but we had to bump up the prices for future orders of devices such as MNT Reform and MNT Pocket Reform as well as upgrades that contain the RCORE with RK3588.

MNT Reform Mainboard 3.0 Batch

We've been sourcing some of the components for a first batch of MNT Reform Mainboards 3.0. Nearly all of them have arrived by now and the mainboards will go into production soon. We apologize for the delay—the next batches will be produced much quicker. We changed our manufacturer and the setup took a lot longer than expected. The batch is scheduled for the end of September.

MNT Vector Status Update

Lucie has resumed work on MNT Vector—an upcoming portable mobile touch-screen device we've been talking about occasionally in our updates.

It will still be some time until the first working prototype but Lucie's been making good progress.
